A Series of 4 Recorded Presentations on How to Increase Overall Fitness for Routes or Boulders
Instant Access
You might know Coach Alex Stiger for her workshops that emphasize skills, drills, technique, etc - things that make us better climbers. But in this Fitness Breakthrough Series, you'll see the personal trainer in Alex coming out in full force to help you become a fitter climber.
In other sports that are more seasonal, athletes become adept at cycling in and out of being "fit" for their sport, but in climbing, we don't have to do that because we can always go to the gym, all year round. And a lot of us just end up doing the same things, all the time, and don't really progress in our climbing fitness.
We just plateau.
Understanding how to assess and change your fitness levels will help you peak, just like seasonal athletes do all the time. It'll also help you know when to dial things back in order to give your body and mind a break from it all.
This series is going to teach you how to assess where your fitness is currently and teach you how to have meaningful training sessions in order for you to systematically increase your overall fitness.
Climbing "fitness" is what we all want when we're on a climb and we don't feel strong enough to do it. It's what we want when we're feeling fatigued in a session after doing just a couple climbs.
When your fitness is high, you can stay on the wall for longer. You can...
• Do more moves
• Do more boulders in a session
• Do more routes in a session
• Push through pump more easily
• Not feel like you're hitting a wall when you're just getting started
4 Recorded Zoom Calls
This is a deep-dive learning experience via recorded Zoom calls with Coach Alex Stiger. There will be four 90-minute calls covering different important topics that will help you increase your climbing fitness and assess yourself throughout the year.
In these calls you can expect a blend of on-the-wall workouts and off-the-wall strength training sessions presented to you in the form of presentations, videos, and Alex's personal experience with her clients and her own climbing.
Weekly Homework Assignments at the Gym
At the end of each zoom call, Alex will give you specific instructions on what you should do the following week to implement the tools into your own climbing and training.
All Calls Recorded
You do not have to attend the zoom calls as the recordings of all of them are in an online portal that you'll get access to immediately after purchase.
EXTRA Q&A CALL
Alex held an extra zoom call at the end to get final questions answered from the first cohort of this course. This is included in your recordings in your course portal.
Each week will include a 90-minute presentation and concrete homework assignments to be done during the following week.
Week 1: Building a Base
Efficient, effective workouts that don't take hours to do. Learn 12 of Alex's favorite training circuits and sessions (4 for routes, 4 for boulders, 4 for boards).
Week 2: Train Like an Athlete
Non-climbing aerobic and strength workouts, mobility routines, effective rest strategies, and how to recover properly.

Week 4: Building Out Your Own Training Program
Guided 6-week training plan build-out with Alex as your guide.
What the outcome of your sessions will be
No more confusion about what you should be doing in your climbing sessions. No more wondering, "Did I even do anything useful for the last 3 hours?"

It's not as hard as you think to gain fitness
Less is more! You don’t need to feel absolutely exhausted to get the best workout possible, and it doesn't have to take that much time.

This 4-part presentation series is for all climbers wanting to be fitter in their route climbing or their bouldering.
1. Any level of climber who often feels frustrated that they’re not making more progress in their sessions and they’re not improving their grades.
2. Any level of climber who wants to feel really successful in their upcoming outdoor spring/summer season.
3. People who feel like they’re doing too little or too much and are in and out of injuries. In other words, they're doing a lot when they’re inspired and healthy and doing nothing when they’re not.
4. People who want to have the knowledge of how to become a better climber and have the capacity to show up and do the work, but don’t want to have to learn a bunch of new skills. This is just physiologically about leveling up overall strength and endurance/capacity.
5. People who want to know how to turn up the dial or turn down the dial depending on their seasonal requirements.
