This is a 5-week journey with Coach Alex Stiger that she taught live to a group of climbers previously. This is NOT a live course but the recordings of the zoom calls she did as well as additional resources.

It will help you break into and regularly send 5.11's. If you are a 5.10 climber (or below), this course will give you everything you need to improve your technique, tactics, and strength.

- Alex will teach you movement principles that you can apply to every climb you get on.

- She'll teach you how to strength train at an appropriate level for your climbing abilities.

- She'll teach you skills and drills you can implement in your climbing sessions and projects.

5.11 breakthrough details

5 Pre-Recorded Zoom Calls

There will be 4 Pre-Recorded Zoom calls going over all the information.

There is also 1 dedicated Q&A session at the end.

In these pre-recorded calls you can expect a blend of skill building, technique improvement, strength training suggestions, climbing drills, projecting tactics, and mindset practice, presented to you in the form of presentations, videos, and Alex's personal experience with her clients and her own climbing.

You will receive recordings of these calls immediately after sign-up.

Weekly Homework Assignments

At the end of each Zoom call, Alex will give you homework to do in your climbing sessions that week to help solidify the information she provided.

Online Course

Alex will provide video instruction and other resources in an online portal that you'll have access to forever. These will include skills and drills, mindset advice, strength training, and all kinds of other important info.

Bonus Coaching Call with Participant

Alex did a coaching call with a participant to help them assess their climbing and figure out how to work on their weaknesses, what movement patterns they can change, and how to improve their climbing mindset. This is available in your online course.

No Live Support

While the original cohort of this program was able to chat with each other and Alex on Slack, this discounted version of the course does not provide that support. You will be on your own throughout the course and you are welcome to sign up to work with Alex privately if you need more help from her.

Who This Course is for

This 4-part presentation series is for all climbers wanting to progress to climbing 5.11's and climb them reliably.

The material discussed will be geared towards 5.10 (and below) climbers wanting to make the breakthrough, but will still be very educational for all levels of climbers.

And even if you've climbed one or two 5.11's and you want to do more--and climb the grade more consistently--this series is still great.

This is not for you if you are consistently climbing mid 5.11's and up!

How this Will improve your climbing

  • You will have increased motivation for your climbing sessions! This is because you'll have focus points to take to the gym with you to explore and learn about.

  • You will feel like you know what direction to take to help you break into climbing 5.11's so you are no longer feeling lost and waiting for something magic to happen in your climbing.

  • You will be given specific exercises and drills to complete on a regular basis that are guaranteed to help you improve in strength and skill development.

I found the "Breaking into 5.11" course really helpful. I've been playing around on easier 5.11's for a while now, but often find myself shut down by pump or fear. Alex broke down the process of analyzing our climbing by video and gave actionable items to work on. Her energy and enthusiasm made the course enjoyable. I found myself looking forward to class all day!

This 5.11 breakthrough series also really opened my eyes to how delightful discussing beta, technique, warm-ups, and training can really be. I have been so used to a very particular strength-based style of talking about climbing and trying hard that making progress really always seemed like a matter of strength and "just do it".

This class really helped me bring a much more open yet disciplined attitude to the process of training. Alex's anecdotes and first person stories about her own climbing experiences were really useful to hear as well.

I feel super motivated!

What Happens After You Enroll?

As soon as you purchase the 5.11 Breakthrough, you will receive an email that contains access to the online course.

You'll find everything you need in there. You will NOT be getting live support from Alex in this course, but you will have more than enough info from her in the recordings and the extra resources to get you headed in the right direction!

Since starting this 5.11 course I have made some of my hardest indoor sends and I have already noticed an improvement in my outdoor performance and mindset. I have a greater awareness of principled movement, resting, beta memorization, straight arms, and other technique items.

I was first exposed to recording my climbs and how to analyze them in this course and it is readily apparent to me this is a long term strategy for making gains. I feel this course has given me the tools to further my redpoint, onsight, and top rope grades but also more thoroughly enjoy my climbing since I now have tools to feel I am growing and making progress.

Stuff that I thought was helpful from the class... Incorporating a non-climbing warm-up has been incredibly helpful! Also, your how to structure a climbing session was very useful.
